The Art

Vintage advertisement inspired artwork designed to seamlessly integrate unique personalization. Each piece features hand set typography rather than one size fits all auto-filled text. The Artist

Known for his vintage inspired artwork with a custom twist, Chicago-based artist Alexander Doll always seemed to be in search of the perfect gift for those close. Finding this "thoughtful" item is often easier said than done and he invariably ended up creating something from scratch. The end result is usually rooted in a happy experience they both shared or something they really love, but the true joy comes from watching them process what they've just received.

At first glance, it's a creative and (hopefully) cool representation of something meaningful to them, and after a closer look, they realize their name(s) along with other personal touches are seamlessly integrated into the art. The result is a precious piece that could only have been made for them.

In starting this collection, Alex figured that if he could find such joy in creating something specifically for a loved one, others might find delight in giving these as well.

The Process

Choose a piece of art, pick between 2 sizes, select one of the various color options, and supply your personalized info. Once the order is received an actual artist (no automation) typesets the provided personalization by hand to best fit the space.

Once complete, a proof is sent to ensure all info is correct. Upon approval orders are printed with archival ink on double weight matte paper. The print is then dry mounted on foam core before being secured in a premium handmade, solid wood frame under high-quality plexiglass.
